Please use this form to enter a freenode contact record for your organization and/or projects. Make sure you're read the explanation of group registration. Provide as much information as you can, to help us research your application to make sure your status as contact is sanctioned officially by your project or group. We keep your contact information private in accordance with our privacy policy

Please be sure to follow any blue links for details and any special information on required fields. Do not submit this form until you've looked over it carefully; it's an early effort and there is no error checking.

If you're filing as contact at the request of someone else, or if someone else must authorize that status for you, make certain their contact info gets filed too. You may file someone else's contact information, with their permission.

Notes:
  • Request Type. Select approving contact if you have the authority to approve the group registration. Select being approved if it must be approved by some other individual or group.
  • Approved By. List the individual(s) or committee approving the contact person. If you're the person approving the contact, this is your name. If you're approving yourself as contact, specify self.
  • Group and Project Names. An internal-only group or an informal group with only one project might not have both a Group Name and a Project Name. Be sure to specify a Group Name.
  • Group and Project URLs. An internal-only group or an informal group with only one project might not have both a Group URL and a Project URL. Be sure to specify a Group URL.
  • Channels. List the channels your group and/or project currently uses or those channels you believe you'll need. You can list a channel name prefix followed by a wildcard character, as in #foo-*, to request all channels starting with #foo-. We'll make sure you are able to assert ownership of those channels where the name is clearly associated with your project or group, and eventually this function may be automated.
  • Channel Type. Specify primary if you are the organization, group or project indicated by your channel name. Specify "about" if your channel is unofficial and you have no external claim to the organization, group or project name in question. Primary channel names begin with "#" and "about" channel names begin with "##".
  • Group Address. This address is optional for informal groups. But please specify a personal address under Your Address.
  • Group Phone. This phone number is optional for informal groups. But please specify a personal phone number below.
  • Group Type. Be sure to select a group type. An informal group has no legal existance, and an internal-only group exists only on IRC. A not-for-profit entity is an actual, incorporated, not-for-profit legal entity.
  • Your Name. The name of the person submitting this form.
  • IRC Nicknames Your registered IRC nickname(s).
  • Email Address. You must specify your email address.
  • Your Role. Describe your own role or function with the group.
  • Your Address. This address is required.
  • Your Phone. You must specify at least one phone number where you can be reached. If there are special instructions needed to reach you, specify them in Contact Notes.
  • Public Key. Your ascii-armored GPG or PGP public key. Optional but highly useful.
  • Contact Notes. List any information you can provide which will help us contact you, particularly by phone. Include such information as hours of availability at a particular location (including complete timezone) and any special instructions.
