Chromium Bedrock and Resource Timing
Chromium developers reported completion of a major internal architecture effort and advanced an Intent to Ship on Resource Timing. The day centered on modular refactoring of core browser objects and a privacy-aligned change to cross-origin size reporting.
Project Bedrock milestones completed
The Chromium team reported that Project Bedrock has reached its milestones by replacing the Browser God object with 120 controllers. The work eliminated 6900 references to the former monolithic object. Developers following Chromium internals should note the shift toward a more modular controller-based design in the browser core.
Intent to Ship Resource Timing body size via CORS
Chromium published an Intent to Ship for a Resource Timing change that requires CORS rather than TAO for access to encoded and decoded body sizes and transferSize on cross-origin resources. The proposal adjusts how sites obtain those metrics under the current timing APIs. Web developers who rely on resource timing for performance measurement will need to account for the stricter cross-origin requirement.
